KENYA: M-PESA TO SUPPORT FARMERS

Foundation has partnered with a
software and agribusiness firm
to promote a marketing platform
for farmers for easy access of
markets.
The company through a Sh20
million grant is working with M-
Farm to provide farmers with
market information.
The deal is aimed at increasing
transparency in the agricultural
sector through the sharing of
prices countrywide via internet
and SMS.
M-Pesa Foundation's executive
director, Les Baillie, said the
partnership will deliver latest
market information and prices to
small scale farmers through
mobile technology.
