Industry under threat #kenya


[The Star]Cotton farming has recorded a
significant decline in production due to stiff
competition it faces from imports. Cotton
Development Authority CEO Anthony Muriithi
says the high cost of electricity and an increase in
pests attacking the crop has discouraged farmers
over the years. He says the industry has a
capacity to generate 15 billion shillings annually if
challenges it faces are addressed.
