At least 772.728 hectares of arable lands were
prepared in the last months by the peasants of the northern
Uíge province, having into account the 2014/2015
agricultural season.
Speaking to Angop, the head of the local department of
Agrarian Development Institute (IDA), Eduardo Gomes said
that associate peasants families and agricultural
cooperatives were involved in the preparation of land.
The process also counted on the involvement of small
farmers, local administrations and National Agricultural
Mechanization Company (Mecanagro).
The agricultural sector in Uíge controls 944 peasants
associations and 10 cooperatives.
