The Agrarian Development Institute (IDA) expects to assist
in the 2014/2015 agricultural campaign at least 53.000
families from the four municipalities of the eastern Lunda
Sul province, said on Friday in Saurimo city the local
director for the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and
Rural development, Avelino Zeca.
According to the director, 3.500 hectares of land are being
prepared for the cultivation of cereals, vegetables and
several horticultural products.
He explained that IDA will release 20 tons of maize, 30 of
bean and 10 of rice, which will be distributed to peasants in
all municipalities.
Avelino Zeca added in 2012/2013 agricultural campaign,
IDA had assisted 49.000 families in the province.
