Yobe approves N1.6m for fertilizer, exams... #nigeria


Damaturu — The Yobe State government has approved N1.6
billion for the procurement fertilizer, payment of
examination fees, maintenance of solar street lights and
youth empowerment.
The Commissioner for Commerce, Alhaji Mohammed,
disclosed this after the State Executive council meeting in
Damaturu.
He said N973million was approved for the procurement of
4500 metric tonnes of Urea fertilizer and 1560 metric tonnes
of NPK for the 2014 farming season. He said council also
approved N315million for the students' WAEC/NECO
examination fees.
He added that N120 million was approved for the
procurement of materials for empowerment of 392 youths,
adding that N117millio was also approved for the
procurement of air conditioners, fan extractors, and piping
units for the state's ultra modern hospital in Damaturu. He
further said N82million was approved for the rehabilitation
of the Damaturu Ring Road and the Inner Ring Road solar
street lights.
