Sh23 for rabbit keeping #kenya
Trans Nzoia Governor Patrick Khaemba has asked the agriculture docket to help famers diversify to other farming activities. Khaemba said the Gallana Irrigation Scheme will make it difficult for farmers to market maize.
The national government is planning to produce 40 million bags of maize from the scheme project.
Speaking in Kitale town yesterday Khaemba said maize is only harvested once per year unlike other crops which may take three to four months to mature.
The county government has allocated Sh23 million to promote rabbit keeping and another Sh6 million to promote indigenous poultry keeping.
