Ward Rep Wants GMO Food Banned in Nakuru County #kenya

Molo ward representative Ngugi Muigai has said he will table a motion seeking to ban the use of genetically modified organism food in Nakuru county. He said a ban will help reduce the prevalence of chronic diseases. "GMOs are known to have a negative outcome when consumed by human beings," Muigai said. He was speaking yesterday to the media in Nakuru town. He said GMP crops cause soil infertility. "Most of our farms in the county are unproductive because of the genetically modified plants," he said. He said the motion will also seek to ban the import of GMO food ito the county
