67 admitted in hospital after eating uninspected meat
SIXTY seven people have been admitted at Mutuati Sub-district Hospital in Igembe North after consuming uninspected meat. District public health officer John Kaberenge said the owner slaughtered a sick cow.
"The owner of the cow had sought services of a quack veterinary officer who treated it but it failed to recorver. He decided to slaughter and sell the meat to the residents who scrambled for it because of the cheap costs," he said.
Kaberenge said those admitted are from the same village. " They started complaining of stomach disorders immediately after they consumed the meat," he said.
