Man gets 30years imprisonement for defiling daughter

A MAN in Kasama who has been sexually abusing
his biological daughter has blamed Satan for his
acts, but the court has dismissed his claims and
sent him to jail. A Kasama High Court sentenced
David Sinkamba to 30 years imprisonment with
hard labour.
Before High Court Judge Petronela Ngulube was
Sinkamba, 41, of Chimbala Village who was twice
found having sexual intercourse with his
daughter by his wife, Aggie Namuntala.
Ms Namuntala, 38, had testified in court how she
first found her husband in her daughter's room.
"He rolled on the ground clutching a Bible and
saying the devil Satan had taken possession of his
body and led him to perform the despicable act
of having intercourse with our daughter," Ms
Namuntala said.
When Sinkamba tried to pull the same Bible-
clutching stunt the second time, his wife caught
him having carnal knowledge of their daughter,
who was 13 at the time.
Ms Namuntala reported him to the police.
The girl, who is now 15, said she was first
sexually abused by her father on July 19, 2011
when he went into her room around 22:00 hours
and removed her undergarments before having
carnal knowledge of her.
She said Sinkamba was interrupted by her
mother who had gone to investigate what was
happening in her room.
The second time the same incident happened
was when Sinkamba followed his daughter to a
bush where yet again her mother's intuition
forced her to follow and found her husband
defiling the girl.
When they returned home, Sinkamba took his
Bible to plead innocence, but his wife could not
take it anymore and decided to report the matter
to the police.
Ms Justice Ngulube, before delivering the 30-year
long sentence, said she was satisfied that the
evidence against Sinkamba was overwhelming
and was convinced that he had had carnal
knowledge of the minor.
"Thirty years imprisonment with hard labour is
appropriate as you defiled your biological
daughter.
"It is not only an abomination but an affront to
the morals and values of society," Ms Justice
Ngulube said.
