Govt distributes foodstuffs to drought victims #angola


More than 600 tons of foodstuffs and other
equipment to support victims of droughts in the
central Benguela province were availed by the
Angolan government.
This was said to Angop on Tuesday by the
minister of Welfare and Social Reintegration, João
Baptista Kussumua, when visiting Chongoroi
municipality, to check the impact of drought in
the region.
João Bapstita Kussumua said that it is a concern
of the state to support and assist the families
affected by the droughts in the province and
these products and assets will benefit the victims.
On Wednesday, the minister is going to work in
Caimbabo and Cubal municipalities, where he will
meet the local authorities and visit some
agricultural perimeters, as well as he will hand
over foodstuffs to families affected by droughts.
Benguela province is located in the central region
of Angola and it comprises a population
estimated at 1.750.000 inhabitants, distributed in
the municipalities of Benguela (Capital city), Baía
Farta, Lobito, Cubal, Ganda, Balombo, Bocoio,
Caimbambo and Chongoroi.
