The Federal Ministry of
Agriculture has explained that
315 communities benefitted
from African Development Bank
AfDB-CBARD project on food
security in five states.
The Zonal Director of the Federal
Ministry of Agriculture, Dr.
Mohammed Arabi stated this
yesterday while speaking with
newsmen at the end of a
meeting of stakeholders to
assess the level of
implementation of the project in
Bauchi.
He said "the $20 million project
was supported by the ADB in
collaboration with the Federal
Government and the five
benefitting states aimed towards
alleviating poverty and
enhancing food security in the
north east region and the entire
country."
Dr. Arabi who is the National
Project Desk Officer, said "135
communities in 45 Local
Government Areas benefitted
from the projects that were
signed between the ADF and the
Federal Government of Nigeria to
contribute to food security and
increased access to rural
infrastructural facilities in the
Project area. This is aim at
reducing poverty through
improvement of the livelihood
and living conditions of the rural
poor."
