Malanje prepares over 200,000 hectares foq agric# angola


At least two hundred thousand acres of land may
be prepared, in Malanje province, for food
production during the agricultural season of
2013/14.
The information was released on Friday in Cacuso
district by the provincial director of agriculture,
Joao Manuel, at the opening of the agricultural
year of 2013/14, chaired by the Vice - President of
the Republic, Manuel Vicente.
According to the director of agriculture, from this
number, 3,500 hectares will be worked out by
farm machinery, 120 by animal traction and the
remainder by manual practice.
He explained that to achieve this goal, the
province received from the Agrarian
Development Institute (IDA) 60 tons of beans, 20
tons of corn and other quantities of seeds and
fertilizers, which are already being distributed to
farmers in all districts
