#14.6m inputs distributed to livestock farmers #nigeria

The Federal Ministry
of Agriculture and Rural Development on
Wednesday commenced the distribution of N14.6
million worth of inputs to 200 livestock farmers in
Bauchi State.
The Director, Bauchi State Green House of the
ministry, Malam Mohammed Yusuf, disclosed
this when he officially rolled out the distribution of
the inputs to the beneficiaries in Bauchi.
Yusuf explained that the inputs, including 7,600
bags of fattening concentrates and 800 blocks of
salt licks, were distributed under the beef value
chain initiative of the Federal Government’s
Growth Enhancement Support Scheme (GES).
He said that under the scheme, each farmer
would receive 38 bags of 25kg fattening
concentrate and four blocks of salt licks at 50 per
cent discount.
He said that the 38 bags would cost N68,400
while the four blocks of salt licks would cost
N4,800, but each farmer would pay half the
price, with government offsetting the balance.
Nigeria has been disbursing funds supposed to improve the agro sector. We can only hope 'they' use it for its intended purpose
